Default 5 htp

Hello everyone!
Does anyone use 5HTP? My rheumo has recommended that I try to use it along with cayenne pepper caplets.

I have done research and found that it should not be taken with amytriptilin or tramadol. This is due to 5HTP's effect on serotonin. It is possible to get serotonin syndrome if they are taken together.

I currently take both amytriptilin and tramadol. I'm not really worried about the amytriptiline because I only take 10mgs. I am worried about the tramadol. I take 100mgs in the morning and at bedtime.

I'm thinking about replacing the tramadol with the 5HTP. I have taken my morning tramadol to 1 pill and I'm trying to do the same in the evening.

I am going to email my rheumo and let him know and get his advice but I'm wondering if any of you have an opinion you can share especially if you are taking 5HTP or have taken it. But Im interested in any information from all of you.

Please let me know what you think. I'm trying to go more natural with my Rxs.
Thanks!
