Most of you know already about www.lizajane.org. But in answer to a question posted about genetic testing, I uploaded my tests to the site, and I think it makes an impressive show of how organized we can get, in order to help our doctors care for us.

The chart shows pages with standard blood count and chemistries, genetic testing, autoimmune, and endocrine (because I have thyroid problems.)

If you scroll through all the pages, and from complete left to complete right on the pages that seem full, you can see how easy this makes catching trends and changes, as well as simply documenting what is already known or what is still missing.

This is a MUST READ for any new person...no matter that you have no clue at all what is being done or why...this is the 'roadmap' for diagnosis that has the tests that exclude the things that get YOUR issues zero-ed in on! Something in these tests should help you find what all is going on with YOU and get you closer to the treatments you need!

WoW I'm impressed! I copied off all of your original spreadsheets and tried going through all of my test results and plugging in results but I've had a very hard time figuring them out. I'd love to have them all laid out like your is......I'll keep working in it.......Roxie

I have been wrestleing with them for years and I'm only just getting it all! BUT, once you do all the 'webbing' up of the 'vocabulary' of blood tests and other tests...you will find yourself on more solid ground!

Blood tests, do totally intimidate me as to 'What they Mean', but with these charts, you can see what goes up/down or nothing and can figure some stuff out on your own. If your doc cannot see any'trends' well, you then clearly KNOW what to do? I do admit, whenever I look at one test, let alone many - I tend to get cross-eyed! My brain FREEZES! Dunno why.

Nor was my personal lab sheet. First, I had to figure out the different categories--genetic, anti-nerve, etc., and then start collecting results. But I began this years ago, so I just enter things as they happen now. It's not hard once you've started, and trends can amaze you.

For instance, I knew that at one point my carnitine was low, and I take supplments, but putting them up and seeing that they'd been ordered several times, and if anything had gotten worse, not better, got me really going with that.

Thyroids are particularly important to chart, as we all have our personal "normals". I only feel well with my free T3 at the highest number, or even over, and looking at just a single reading wouldn't make it clear that I was well a year ago, at 430, but exhausted now, at a normal 330.

Doctors love it!

Take it slow, just keep it up.

And remember, the last chart is a checklist. You don't have to get tested for everything that causes your particular type of neuropathy at once, but just check off as they are done.

Yes the thyroid stuff...I wont' go into my adventure into 'thyroid-land'...scary unless you are prepared...
But, who else have you met that has had NO TRACE of Vit D in the blood? And, that it had not been tracked or looked at? And I get blood drawn all the time! Durn it...Please, do not ask me about my adventures in 'thyroid-land'...They do not compare to the posts on thyroid boards, but...in hindsight..Best said is that ignorance is NOT bliss?

Ladies and gentlemen!!!! Get your thyroid tests done! Just in case? Why not? The tests are cheap compared to the consequences! Really truly and for sure! - j

LizaJane, you've given me much to strive for...for a while I was good about getting my test results but in the past 8-9 months I've been lax. Now I'm going to backtrack to get those tests to help me track using your charts. Thanks for the boost!

I'm sorry at how few people stick with using them, when over the course of our lives, over years, they will prove to be so important. And doctors are just so grateful to have things laid out.
