Default Parsing some humor out of our pain

My son loves Toy Story. The Army Men are a hit. They are often strewn about. The Easter Bunny saw fit to include some brown army men in his basket. They show up great against our brown carpet.

I made my way downstairs after putting him to bed the other night and shuffled toward my personal oasis of a large chair/ottoman combo... only to be ambushed by what I later determined to be a rifleman and a minesweeper!?!? What?!?

I fell. Thankfully I still have some level dexterity and was close to the chair, though if you slowed down my audio I swear it would have sounded like Will Ferrell from Old School after he was darted and/or the horrid Darth Vader Nooo from Episode III.

My daughter came over to test the meddle of these army men, my wife scolded her not to mock me. I didn't take it that way, though. I can't imagine how hard it is on them. I am not vascilating in symptoms so greatly I am doing cartwheels one day to traction the next, but two days before we did some yard work together.

I had to forgive the army men. Besides it being my way my favorite color happens to be brown.

Jon

Geez, we can now be takin down by a 3 inch army man!

My dog somehow boobytraps the route from the bedroom to the kitchen with her squeeky toys. Going for a drink in the dark almost ensures you step on one, which makes her dart from the bed, thinking I may want to play (at 3 a.m.)

Glad you didn't crash!

Though it is over 20 years since I've played some dexterity from soccer seems to be retained. Every misstep to this point has been less ugly than it could've been. I have hopes to limit them, though.

I try to count on two decade old dusty skill sets as infrequently as possible.

I am trying to put on jeans while standing now rather than sitting on the bed. What I don't know is will my body fall the way it needs to to land on the bed. TIMBER!!

Hi KnowNothingJon
Felled by the rug-rats toys huh - my problem isn't toys - it's the rugs themselves - I swear they leap up as I'm approaching just to trip me up. Splat!
It isn't pretty - especially if I have to try and dodge the woodburner as I'm falling.

Jon, et al,

As someone who has managed to cause serious (Hospitalising) pain twice in the past 3 months from falls, I urge you all to take extra care on your ambulations - and dressing!

My usual collapse is a graceful, stages event. These two have been unstoppable crashes. They come unexpectedly, please beware.

Dave.

Dave I'm so sorry to hear that you have had falls that have aggravated your pain. You have been a great help and support to me. I hope that your pain level has dropped back to "normal"

Thanks Canagirl,

Neck and referred arm pains are excruciating - above and beyond the 'normal'. Nothing looks like settling, I have an early PM appt next week, my GP wants me to increase the Morphine and Ketamine and change up the Tramadol while I am there

I am lucky to have such great Drs.

Dave.
