Hi Phil,

I had a rather severe burning off and on for a couple of years.
The burning pain was severe even when at rest.

I now have a sharp pain with movement of my hip (hip pain is in groin area), which is related to my autoimmune arthritis.

I don't know if you have co-occurring conditions or not. (I hope not.) If so, it can sometimes be difficult to sort out which condition is acting up.

Yes it seems to be a couple of the same spots flaring up so far. Woke up last night a d two fingers were completely numb and after I moved around the feeling came back in a few minutes. My forearms also ached but then went away. I wonder if it was the position I was sleeping in.

It explains some of the mechanical causes of groin/hip pain.

Pain in the groin can be from a hernia in males, and also enlarged lymph nodes.

I think you should see a doctor if the pain is frequent and/or constant.

Thank you MrsD, I returned to my doctor last week with this new pain. He examined my lymph nodes and also looked for a hernia he also rotated my leg to see if the hip was causing it.
I'm wondering it is the main nerve listed in your link that comes from the base of the spine that is causing this thanks to the PN. I'm also getting weird pain in my knee on the same leg. Its hard not to believe it is all nerve related due to the PN.
He bumped up my Lyrica to 225mg but the pain is still constant, worse when sitting. I don't know whether to go back to see about taking a higher dose of Lyrica or what. Seems to be something new developing quickly every week.
Hanging out for the PET scan.
Thanks again mrsD

Mine too, including groin.

Phil, have you tried an ice pack on your lower back?

20 minutes at a time, 2 or 3 times a day?

Sometime ice calms nerves that are over-firing.

My SFN started in my left groin and left foot! I still have trouble with my groin. At first, before my diagnosis, my urogyn doc thought it was from pelvic floor dysfunction. So my therapist dry needled that area.....it actually helped, for a while. Now, it's tight there again and my SFN seems to be progressing. I am miserable.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced groin pain with their PN. The pain is high on the left thigh not centrally. Like when you strain your groin from over stretching when exercising.
I have had a sharp pain in the left side for days now.

Yes. I get it on and off and it usually lasts for a few days. Not sure if this is part of SFN or not though. My doctor also examined me.
