Default Mri and Spect scans back.

Hi everyone it has been a long time coming but I'm back from the Neurologist and all great news. Both scans clear of any lesions and no sign of early dementia or seizures. Originally i was told by my GP that the pain in my thigh, shin and groin was due to the peripheral neuropathy but my neurologist ordered an MRI of my back and sure enough 2 bulging discs causing the nerve pain. My new neurologist also performed a nerve test and found no signs of neuropathy. Go figure. ... Don't know how one could find it and other not.
The good news is treatment for my herniated discs and i should be right. The Neurologist thinks the few episodes i have had like DejaVu and confusion might be an aura like what people have before a seizure.

I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your help and support. My heart goes out to those of you who remain battling with your illnesses.

Phil

That is great news Phil. It is great that you were able to get to the root cause of your problem. Something we are all trying desperately to figure out. I haven't read your prior threads so apologies but curious how did you start by thinking this was neuropathy? Had it been confirmed by skin biopsy or it was just based on clinical symptoms?

Hi franklin.
I started with numbness in bottom of left foot then stocking feeling up shin. I was sent to a neurologist and he conducted a nerve test with electrodes and measured the readings. From that he told me i had peripheral neuropathy. Since then i started to get bad pain in my groin, though and shin on the same leg.
My knew neurologist did the same test and said the readings were normal.

That's great!
How are you feeling.
What's the treatment and prognosis?
Which lumbar discs are they?

Thanks Healthgirl i can't remember. Five are degerated and two are herniated. I remember that there was a gap of 2 between the 2 herniated ones. I will ask next week when i go in for the injections.

I'm sorry Healthgirl to answer your second question they are going to inject the herniated discs. With cortisone i think but not a hundred percent sure. I will certainly check it out before they do.
