Well, that's a pretty broad statement. When one has cancer the choice is Chemo which can cause PN (and perhaps other problems but I'm not familiar with all forms of chemo) or dying from the cancer. Some conditions are worse if left untreated than anything the treatment can bring on. And it would seem that not all forms of PN are incurable. :)

I was on ZOCOR for 7 years. What my doc said was the lowest dose. All because my Cholesterol was 209. Borderline high. Biggest mistake of my life. They can't find any cause for my SFN and now autonomic symptoms. I keep saying it was ZOCOR. The response I get is, "Oh, it goes away though if you stop taking it" or "I have never seen that side effect in my patients.". All of this is of course BS. So, now i live with a debilitating sickness. Sad i may not see my kids grow up. But I will fight as much as i can. I just haven't seen any success stories out there of people recovering from this, especially the autonomic aspect.

From my experience in my family with cancer the treatments were much worse than the disease IMO. The one family member who refused anything but palliative care wasted away and died (just like the others) but relatively free of pain. Her brother had the same type cancer and he suffered horribly from the so called side effects of chemo and in the end he lasted a shorter time than she did. IMO he died ,more from the "cure" rather than his disease. Dying is not always the worst that can happen.

Yes, my great aunt used to say there are far worse things than death. I believe that.
