Default PN??? Came back after having left. :(

So I had no tingling/asleep/burning feelings in my hands and feet for the past two or so months.....or atleast not so often. It came back recently and I am just wondering if anyone else has symptoms intermittently?

I call these flares.

Stress, new shoes, new foods, really bad weather (too hot, many storms), a recent illness, poor sleep, too much exercise... many things can flare the nerves.

It is difficult to distinguish paresthesias in the early stages of PN from actual PN (nerve DAMAGE). There are many things that can irritate nerves, but not damage them.

Is it possible that PN will not progress much beyond this? I know that may be wishful thinking....but my very first "flares" about a year ago were worse I think than the second bout. This is my third. If I could guess the trigger I would assume it would be traveling...and not having a handle on my leaky gut syndrome. I just find it crazy that it disappears pretty much completely and then pops up again.

I'd keep a journal. When my hands were so acute years ago I was frightened too. But after I delivered my son, they seemed to return to a new "normal"... I have been protecting them ever since.

I can still go numb doing hand sewing or crochet. So I avoid that activity now. I sometimes have to wear my wrist supports at night. But that too, seems to cycle according to activity.

Wearing comfortable shoes also protects my feet. But socks still remain problematic for me.
