I have owned hitachi magic wand massagers for many years...these days I use it on my damaged leg and thigh from hip replacement and nerve damage....it feels good and my thinking is that it's getting blood moving. I use it on my injured shoulders and my stomach too....so for me it's valuable tool.

This link is a great resource for foot issues and foot pain:

This is the subsection on ball of foot pain:
http://www.northcoastfootcare.com/pa...Foot-Pain.html

Look around the site, as it covers many mechanical issues and how to treat them for the feet.

Seeing a good podiatrist locally is a good start when your foot pain is localized like yours. Sometimes the "fix" is non invasive and helpful.

Morton Epsom lotion rubbed into the top of the foot may improve the circulation to the area too. It won't penetrate well on the bottom of the foot because the skin is quite thick there. You can try also soaking in lukewarm epsom salts, but I think the lotion is better.
It is inexpensive at WalMart and Walgreen's, and online at Amazon. Many of us use this here with success.

If you are really suffering, the combination of the fetal position and really doing a good self massage is good. Ken in Texas.
