Default How were all you North Easterners last night?

Last night was very painful for me. The stinging, shooting, burning pain was in full force. I caved in and took meds. While I waited for them to kick in, I checked accuweather and they have a red alert for arthritis pain.

Default It was unpleasant--

--probably partly, in my case, because I had to travel in it.

My arthritic pain--joints and bones--was heightened enough that I knew there were rapid pressure changes going on. And, of course, there was rain and wind and rapid temperature swings. But at least my car was not hit by a falling tree limb like my poor neighbor's down the street was.

Man, i am glad to hear you say this. here in long Island, moist , cold, brutally windy weather is eating me alive for the past 3 days. I am running around wondering, is it something I ate? Did I get counterfeit gabapentin? Are the supplements expired?? On top of my usual SFN pain, I has arthritis pain kick in that i needed White Willow Bark for, which helped. But without the gabapentin i probably would have gotten 45 minutes of sleep. Sucks taking medicine yeah, but there is also a place for mercy and i believe the man upstairs would agree.

Today the weather is much better as are my symptoms, for now. But, i am preparing for the fact that this is gonna be a tough winter.

Patrick I'm in Westchester county NY and we got the same. I used to live in Long Island (loved it there) about 5 years ago. Didn't sleep hardly at all but I think that was due to other reasons.

I couldn't sleep the night before at all.

But my pain levels seem a bit better, than usual. I have been
doing more carnitine...on a regular basis. I had a virus or sinus thing about 4 weeks ago and my muscles and nerves were roaring away. So I got my carnitine out. Looks like I will be on this substantially for the winter. (if this early relief holds). I used to use it alot when I went to the gym, but I can no longer do that, so I stopped. I have almost used up my Puritan's so I ordered the NOW brand from Amazon, but it hasn't arrived yet.

Acetyl L Carnitine or one of the other carnitine's? I swear by Acetyl l Carnitine especially in combination with R-Lipoic. powerful combo for me.

My Puritan carnitine is acetyl. But I have noticed lately (I didn't have this problem before), that I am having lots of acidic skin
issues with it this time--I can smell "vinegar" on myself lately LOL. I am much older too, so I don't know if age is a problem.

I've always used the acetyl form in the past, since the studies on PN used it. But I opted for the plain L-carnitine from NOW this time to try. My email today says my Amazon order has shipped, so it will be here soon.

I am thinking that aging puts a strain on the systems that synthesize things for us. Carnitine is one of those substances that we make ourselves. If that system erodes, we are forced then to take it in supplement form. Since starting the carnitine I have more stamina and my leg muscles are getting strong again. I can get up much more easily now.

But this storm front did not affect me as much as the hurricane one did. I was very tired yesterday from not sleeping, but I didn't really have much pain this time.
Hubby brought me the barometer to illustrate the huge drop in pressure, yesterday. So I guess it is the carnitine helping?

I really like the stuff and it has so many health benefits. I have doctors best version of both the ALCAR and the R-Lipoc. its my early morning go to before I do anything else. These are the two supplements I make sure to never miss. Hopefully, it is what's helping you.
