We are on the road of doing a work up for Knee Peroneal Nerve. Back MRI is coming, 2nd EMG this thurs and starting neurotin tonight. The 1st EMG stated I had some peroneal weakness. The Neurosurgeon stated they rarely do decompression surgery and its mostly conservative method. Which is fine but what if the Meds don't help in 3-4 months?
I would love to hear your stories, suggestions and words of encouragement because frankly I'm scared! History-Leg pain started 10 yrs ago. Controlled with motrin. Jan/Feb 2015 shoveled snow and nerve flared REALLY bad. With Mortin it settled down. Mar 2015 my son and I had a jumping contest and I hurt my knee and the peroneal nerve has not stopped hurting. April-Aug- physical therapy for knee and Volteran. Aug 2015 had knee surgery for fat pad trim. Oct-2015 sharp, stabbing, throbbing pain down shin and into foot. Im unable to bare weight on it. I do not have drop foot. |
