Default HypoThyroid and Neuropathy

I know that there are maybe close to 100 symptoms of Low Thyroid and I decided to look up HypoT and PN. And there are a lot of links. One even from Mayo Clinic. Many others that I didn't even look at. I chose to post this link.

I have read many here talk about NOT knowing WHY the neuropathy and don't know whether thyroid was talked about here before. I'm new to this group so I don't know that one. I went 10 yrs with a struggling thyroid but never had nerve pain, JUST 10 yrs of depression. Got my thyroid fixed in 2002 finally.

Thyroid controls or doesn't control so much of our body functions.

Anyway..

As this blog quotes the Mayo Clinic, it is interesting to note that said Clinic states that Hypothyroidism as a cause for PN is 'Uncommon'.

Seems like some confliction on causes re: neuropathy and thyroid from Mayo. This link does mention underactive thyroid.

Perhaps digging deeper into thyroid COULD help reduce pain. I just know I spent a lotta years getting thyroid supported due to numbers and not symptoms. My D.O. back in 2002 called in for Armour, no labs, he knew as he was from the older school of doctors. I went untreated for 10 yrs due to NORMAL numbers.

Yes, Caroline, there are over 100 causes of Neuropathy, some common (Diabetes), some rare (hypothyroidism). The problem, and frustration, we see here is too many Members are labelled with Idiopathic PN, where further research and testing may find a cause.

Maybe decades of fluoridation has done a bad job on all of us, it does inhibit thyroid. I now realize how much damage I live with and I was born and raised in fluoride water and knew nothing about this toxicity until 1991 when I attended a lecture on toxic chemicals.

I was also raised in lots of sugar/carbs. And remember back in the days when MD's talked about how great cigarettes were for people.
