Default We found mold

While getting rid of an old bookcase, we found what appears to be black mold under it. It was not damp at all, but looks like it had time to live in the carpet area and on the base of the bookshelf for a while as the area is completely covered. This is the room that (when I was buff and strong), did my daily workouts and weight lifting.... bouncing around, doing interval training and then getting down on that rug to do pushups.
I was probably kicking up dried mold spores all around.

Shocked

Oh, my.... Let's hope you can get rid of it safely now.

I have seen stories of how difficult this task can be.

Sometimes people move because of it.

I wonder how valid the theory that mold can damage the neurological system is. My doctors don't believe in it, yet can't tell me what happened to me.

the mold has the life changing ability. My problem is distinquishing mold from mildew. I had a corner in a closet that was suspect and I summarily dismissed it as mildew. Your local health dept may have more details about testing facilities and procedures.Good Luck, Ken in Texas.

Hi Healthgirl

You may have already seen this as I think a link to it was posted on another NT thread a while ago. It's the transcript of a radio interview with Dr Richie Shoemaker about biotoxin exposure including mold.

All the best with getting this sorted and finding some solutions.

Also, I am finding info on the combined effect of formaldehyde and mold- both of which I've been breathing from the dry mold spores and the new precut wood floors we installed 5 years ago.
Wonder if there is anything to it.
