H as anyone ever had or heard of neuropathic itch? There's lots of info online, but no definite treatment or time line.

First - I feel a slight itch. As I gently rub the itch, it itches more intensely quickly until it becomes a driving me crazy itch.

Next - I feel a small, soft bump under the skin.There is nothing to see at this point.

Then - a small maybe dime size flat, pink spot appears on the bump.

There are fewer than a dozen of these places on my body - not clumped.

This has been going on for over a month.

Some itch a few times and seem to disappear. Some itch a few times and, suddenly, there is what looks like a water blister on the flat, pink spot.

2 of those have gone away within 4 or 5 days, but they're still there - small, flat, pink and itching like crazy.

1 of these seemed about to pop. I put antibiotic cream and a bandaid on it for over a week with no change, It has gone down some, softened some and seems about to return to the flat stage.

Regardless of the stage, they all itch. I know better than to use nails. I
h on and around them but.... Anti itching cream.
, antihistamine..... Nothing!

My family doctor doesn't know what it is, but tends to agree with the neuropathic itch after I showed him my internet research.

No specialist in my small town, and I'm not able to get out of town to see one, so I'm praying one of you can give me some info or suggestions. Odd guesses would be better than nothing!!!!

Try putting an antifungal cream like clotrimazole on them and cover as before. Fungal skin lesions itch like that.

They could also be hives. Using Benadryl cream may help if that is the case.

The system may have "timed out" while you were typing.
They go poof if you don't use another tab or browser to re log in right away, and totally gone if you log off/leave site.

When you log in to NT, right next to your name is a little box called "remember me". If you check that, then you won't be timed out when you make a long post.

Some people make their long posts, in Word or Notepad, and then copy/paste them here into the text box.

There is a way to get a post back if you have multiple tabs open, and get mixed up. Hitting "back" on that lost post tab may bring it back. I've done that myself....but it can be dicey and you may have really lost it. I find typing on a iPhone, very dicey, and have lost posts that way with just touching the screen sometimes. So I don't make long posts when I am on my iPhone. Since the newest updates from Apple, my screen is so touchy it will seem to flip for no reason.

So try the "remember me"... it works to save you time and effort.

It is worth a try to use Mortons Epsom Salt Lotion. You may have fungal or allergic stuff going on but try it and see if it helps. It helped me with burning so it might be good for itching. If something helps, I will stand and pitch for it. Good Luck, Ken in Texas.

Thanks,Ken. I am a long time user of Epsom salts and most any homeopathic help, But it doesn't touch this. Fungus, allergies and most everything has been ruled out. And these places that I can rarely even see are the worst and deepest itch I've ever experienced.

As I wrote, I've tried all the anti-itching creams, antihistimines and some left over creams. I do know better, but I get desperate.

When my children were small and getting everything, I used to dissolve starch in their bath water, gently pat them off and let the starch do its thing on their skin. For chicken pox, measles, etc. Epson salts baths for lots of things. I've got tons of things like this that I'd rather use than meds.

But I'm 85, have pn, arthritis,lots of broken things, etc., so you can see how I've accumulated the natural cures as well as meds.

got rid of some 'links' my posts could be submitted. I'm new but not very pc savvy. I know what links are, but not in this context. mrsD told me to click on the 'remember me' as I log in - which I do - but I really can't understand the rest of what mrsD told me.

I've been thinking about this since you posted and still scratching my head (metaphorically.) I get PN itch occasionally but never a blister. Some years back I had an allergic reaction to mango and didn't realize it at the time. I managed to infect many body parts inadvertently. I had the same type of reaction you describes for 3 weeks intermittently without the blisters. Blisters makes me think it could be a form of the chicken pox virus. It's all I can come up with.
