After searching the web, I finally came across this site:

It seems that I am one of these unlucky people. I'll find a way. I know this much: I'm not allergic to the sun, or wasn't through this last summer, so there's always that option.

Thank you! So far so good.

So I just wanted to update, especially MrsD., that I've been using the NOW brand D3 cream for 5 days now, and have been on 500 IU orally of D3 (Pure Encapsulations Calcium K/D) for longer, about 2 weeks now, or 1.5. All seems good so far. No GI upset at all, but all the benefits of vitamin D3. It's still too early to tell, so I'll hold off at least for another week. There might be some insomnia (mild: just waking up in the middle of the night for 30 minutes or so, one night I couldn't get back to sleep), but perhaps that's because I've broken my diet now and then (not in any major way). Tomorrow I go back to my very strict diet, so we'll see if I sleep better. In a month or so I'll retest and see how it has gone. This is the longest I've been on D3 consistently without having to come off it due to GI upset or some allergic reaction.

I hope this keeps working. MrsD., thank you so much for bringing the creams to my attention!

3 months later and I've only moved up to 25.5 from 23. Well, I didn't take enough, and have only been really taking it seriously for 1 month. I might have to switch to D2, since I can't take too much D3 without getting insomnia, and I clearly need to be taking more. I might try upping my dose of D3 cream one more time and hope I don't get insomnia, but if that doesn't work, I'm going to have to try D2 and then test again in a few months. To be fair, I'm now taking 2000-4000 a day via the cream, but that's a recent development and my body needs more time for it to work. Anyway, I'll have to see. Just thought I'd update.
