Default I've NEVER reached behind to hook my bra!

I've always hooked my bra in front then spun it around and slipped my arms through the straps. I can't imagine trying to reach behind me to hook the hooks.
My daughters do it the same as I do. Guess I learned it from my mom too.

Hmmm, never thought about it, but as you were telling us about it I was trying to imagine why it would hurt your shoulder to hook your bra.

Funny how we don't go outside our little boxes (or dressing rooms) until someone asks a question like that.

My family is typically large busted and we spin the bra after hooking it so we can "bend over" and adjust after we've put our arms into the straps.

Good Luck Mel!

"you fasten them in front, and move(schooch) them around to the back... then put your arms thru the shoulder loops.. That is how I always did them in the past"

That's the way I've been putting bras on for years. Can't do that when my arm is the way it is. My arm, well, it's too much pull for the arm. I can only do this when it's really hot and nothing bothers me. But on any ordinary day, ALAN TO THE RESCUE.

Anyway, I shall put on my home-made creation tomorrow morning. You should have seen the neighbors around the corner when I showed up carrying my home-made bra in the shopping bag. We sit on the porch ever night and shoot the breeze. So I'm wearing the harness thing and I'm pulling at it. I explain what I bought and said "oh, look what I made". They were hootin and hollering. These are all italian ladies from italy and they wear these old fashioned white things with lots of fasteners.

They were hysterical.

Hey, whatever works!!!!!

Melody

Default Well

Im don't wear them around the house because the PN in my shoulder.
But i'm not tiny on top either. Pennies will measure you, although some
of those bigger bra's hurt your skin. Walmart does have those hook in the
front sleeping ones. Poor Bob has to hook all my bras because i can't hook
them because of my hands. Then PT told me to step into them and pull
them up it wears you out. My Derm a man and a bunch of med. students
were watching and he told me to put soft hankies well under my boobs
so i wouldn't get rashes or use a big powder puff and powder it got so
funny. It get's so hot in Mo. and my grandma would wear 1 of those huge
ccorset thinks she would order from Lane Bryant and it was so hard to
get her in that but she was a proud lady and never conplained, she would
wear them to work as a nurse and they didn't have air back then. Boy
she sure was pretty and always look nice, but she did have dents in her
shoulders. Sue

Walmart sells them. Anyplace that sells bras sells front closure bras.

And as MrsD says: Put it on backwards and do the clasp. That's how I've always put my bra on. I never could do it the other way.

This reminds me of an oprah episode. They were saying how important the right bra is and how it can really change how your body looks. They did it with jeans too. I love to buy pretty undergarments. Anyhow Target is very inexpensive and has really cute things. I'm sure they would have ones with the back or Victorias secrets though more pricey. Bras are like pants in size. They vary. I wish it was more consistent it would be so much easier. If pants are suppose to be a 10 then make it a 10 don't put 6 so people can say they bought a 6. Its just a number. Ok that was a little off. You get my drift. Now go treat yourself to some pretty stuff. I'm sure your husband will thank you too.
