Since there is some curiosity on this topic, I figured I'd add some info. From what I understand the neurotoxic mold theory is not agreed upon by most mainstream doctors so I am including what I can find that looks legitimate.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15143854 Here, it seems that the money making meat business veterinary world is aware of how dangerous it is to their profits. http://www.plusvet.eu/why-mycotoxins...ested-in-feed/ I have more but figure we can all contribute and take time to think about it. |

Thanks for starting this and for the links, which I read. At this point, I'm trying to find a natural binder for the toxins, and have so far not come up with anything definitive that can mach Cholestyramine and the less effective but less problematic Welchol.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that my SFN is due to some toxin, whether bacterial, fungal or what have you. One possibility that I'll be taking seriously is a full detoxification via herbals, but I'm not assuming RX, if I can get my hands on them. I don't have the funds right now to travel to the US, get a battery of tests and then the necessary (if necessary) prescriptions. Quote:

I thought I'd give this a bump and see if anyone has some information, a study perhaps, some research, etc. about a natural binder for the toxins that can do the work of Cholestyramine and the less effective but less problematic Welchol. Thanks.

If you want to test your living environment, there something called an ERMI test. Instead of taking the expensive test RTL test, I took something called the C4A test. It's cheaper at $125 and my BCBS insurance covered most of it. If your results are above the range, then further investigation into mold is warranted.

I wanted to thank you for this link. It lead me to conducting several days of research, tons of reading, and to ordering activated charcoal, bentonite clay and glutathione. I've decided to use them all at one point over the next few months, beginning with the glutathione this month. After a 2 months course of herbal antibiotics, I intend to use the charcoal and clay to detox. I can't afford testing for now - the tests are insanely expensive - but I'm convinced I have some sort of infection, or at least I highly suspect it.
The research regarding bentonite clay and charcoal for absorbing or sequestering the relevant toxins in humans is not really there, pretty much non-existent though, but that's unsurprising, given there's no profit in it. But I'll try them and do so before I consider finding a way to get myself some Rx Cholestyramine. Quote:
