I'm here due to nerve damage from hip replacement. I don't have the "classic" PN I hear from most here.

I was curious so looked up possible side effects of Nexium and it's staggering. I believe this once script drug is now otc. Pretty scarey.

It sounds like you haven't had a complete neurological exam. Trying to find out what was wrong with me the neurologist ordered several blood draws (each draw testing for several different conditions),a spinal tap and even a nerve biopsy. Keep going.

My only problems being the anemia, my blood pressure is high, and I am overweight (which I am working on, I lost 80 pounds last year and hope to lose more this year, too!)

I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions. I can't really figure out why this is happening to me. My doctor thinks it could be tarsal tunnel syndrome but I don't know how that would affect both feet at the exact same time.

It is possible your PN is caused by iron defiiciency or anemia, since it is one of the symptoms of anemia

Wanted to leave an update... My numbness and symptoms have disappeared. It's like it never happened. I'm not sure if it's the iron and b12 supplement or what. Nothing found during EMG. Doctor thinks maybe fibro given my joint pain issues but not sure about that one. Seriously a mystery but I'm glad it went away!! Thanks again for the support.
