Quantitative immunoglobulins, and IgG subclasses. The subclasses is quite important, because the total IgG may be normal, BUT one or more of the subclasses can be deficient.

So I reviewed labs already done, and I am slightly deficient in IGA (normal IGG and IGM). My result was 75 mg/dl (range is 91 to 414.) The neuro who ordered it didn't mention it. I still am not clear on the relationship of this to my SFN. I will ask at next neuro appointment. Anyone have anything to read about this? Do you think this would be enough to get IVIG?

If you are even slightly deficient in IgA, then you should have the IgG subclasses checked. As I mentioned, you can have a completely normal total IgG, yet be deficient in one or more of the subclasses, which can be significant and considered a primary immune deficiency. Ask you doctor (even your primary care) to order the IgG subclasses.
