In my husband's case, yes. Took a while though and he did a lot to heal. Chiropractor helped with his gait and balance. Actually corrected his gait in one session. He also practiced his balance on a balance board. Reflexology really helped to loosen up his feet and ankles. Early on he used the Rebuilder. Helped with pain and flexibility. Of course, B vitamins, ALA, Mitochondrial support formula and others. Make sure you are replacing your electrolytes. Calcium and magnesium were helpful for him. Stretching is very important.

We've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at him. I am so grateful he was able to heal as much as he did. He's still has issues but no where near they were in 2002.

Oh! Thank you! Your message is very uplifting and is exactly what I need right now ... motivation! I know that many others have worked just as hard as you and your husband and have not had good results. My heart goes out to them and I hope they don't give up the fight. Thank you again, sincerely!

My PN is most likely the result of my own Immune System mounting an attack on my nervous system. It also took out my saliva/tears/moisture glands, has attacked my lungs (small airway obstruction) my ears (Meniere's) and I have small fiber neuropathy, and bleeding and inflammation of my bladder (Interstitial cystitis), AND there are more but I'm tired of thinking about them.

I have Primary Immune Deficiency, and my Immune system, when doesn't attack foreign infections DOES ATTACK my own body.

I have a transfusion of the immune factor I need, every month, and will for the rest of my life.

I tried Methyl B-12, for almost two years, with no help.

Exercise in a warm pool and on the Nu Step help....but My legs are atrophying and this PN is serious serious stuff.

Best wishes to you all. ElaineD

I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering with this terrible disease. It sounds like every day is a challenge for you and you certainly have worked hard to find a solution. I hope you can continue to find ways to cope. Best wishes!

I did however, get leg braces, which have vastly improved my balance and walking.

I have PROFOUND PN with two of the three major leg nerves GONE, and the third one severely damaged.

I start Physical therapy tomorrow to learn how to get maximum results.

I have had the braces for three weeks, and hate to take them off to go to bed.

Best wishes, ElaineD

be careful while doing physical therapy for balance. i have been falling more often as the degree and area of numbness in my feet and legs increases. I did two months of balance therapy, which was quite intensive, using balance machines and harnesses. i felt i was making progress, but had injured my toe and didnt realize it. it became infected which progressed to osteomyelitis, which resulted in amputation. just make sure you check your feet regularly especially if you do the same type intensive balance therpay.
