Default Asking plaquenil question again

Does anyone here take plaquenil for autoimmunity? Does it help with pain?
I was prescribed this drug about a year and a half ago and said I'd like to hold off.
I'm now considering it, but would like to know as much as I can about it first. From what I gather, it helps with swelling (which I don't have).

I've been on it for a couple years but don't know if it helps because my symptoms are so variable anyway. Sensory & autonomic neuropathy, positive ANA, positive anti-Ro, and very high anti-DsDNA antibodies. With only neuropathy symptoms, no skin or joint problems, I have no Dx but rheumie says she can't say whether I do or don't have lupus. If my symptoms ever level out I'm going to try going off the plaquenil to see if it makes a difference. Which I doubt because I never noticed any identifiable improvement after starting it. I've never had any side effects from it. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

I have Lupus and started plaq. right away, within six months my joint pain and fatique were greatly relieved. It's not a pain medication. I believe it is used to lower the immune system, therefore helping to relieve Lupus symptoms. Hope this helps.
