Default Fascinating article on the vagus nerve

A friend of mine posted a link to this article on Facebook, and I found it fascinating. There's no mention of neuoropathy in it, but it discuss how vagal nerve stimulation has been used to successfully treat rheumatoid arthritis by turning off production of an inflammatory protein.

If nothing else, it gives me hope with regard to progress in understanding the nervous system.

Thank you for sharing.....very interesting and I enjoyed reading it. I like the reinforcement of the mind body relationship as well. Things like meditation that we can all do to help our vagal tone!

Thanks Janieg

Very interesting - it ties in with studies I saw a while ago about people who've had their vagus nerve severed or partly removed are far less likely to develop Parkinsons.
