Here's the deal, I don't have periods, haven't since I was 26 when they took out my Uteris, but still have my ovaries. However, I think I'm going through menopause.
![]() ![]() I've recently developed new "sites" in my right hand and my right shoulder. They are new over the last two months. ![]() I'm not "sure" if these are connected or not, because I'm not really sure of my "cycles" due to not having periods. I still have my hormones and my ovaries, but no periods because I have no Uteris. So, I can't really link the two. My mom had the same surgery as me, and I have no sisters from my mother. So I can't even "estimate" at what age I might be starting menopause. O.K. ladies, have you noticed any links between the two? |

Hi there:
Well, most women start their menopause from age 47 onwards. I stopped completely at 47. My mother had a friend who continued her period till she was 55 and she had a kid at age 52. She never got old. It was amazing. It didn't hurt that she was 49 and married a guy who was 32. Maybe he kept her young. lol. But seriously, if you are over the age of 47, then you might be starting menopause. Some people have the hot flashes for 10 years. I know many of them. I didn't get them too bad. Maybe once in a while. I will never forget my Aunt Josey. I was a kid and we were all sitting around the table and all of a sudden she got red as a beet and starting fanning herself. I had no idea what was happening and everybody started whispering "she's in her changes". Now I had no idea what the heck they were talking about. No one ever explained that to me. So why not ask your doctor. He will run an estrogen level test on you and that will determine pre-menopause, menopause, etc. That's what my doctor did. Maybe they do things different now??? Hope you're not having too many pins and needles. Be well Melody

hormonal fluid changes often give symptoms similar to PN at least for me.

issues had been 'resolved', IF it were me, I'd go see if I could see an endocrinologist and have all those functioning 'glands' checked out. One thing that does go klaphooey is that old 'thyroid' either going Hyper or Hypo...and many sypmptoms mimic PN and a whole slew of other issues...All it usually takes is a LOT of blood work, a sono of the thyroid...and maybe a biopsy.....Usually it can be helped...
While the rest of you isn't - those Ovaries are declaring something, if not age! - j |
