Gina,
Your Grandfather does sound like a wild man.....and at 94!! Dang you must have some longevity genes in your family! I can see him in his fancy car, with all the jewlery, speeding down the freeway to the ocean! LOL That's quite a site! It sounds like you love him a lot.
I hope your mom finds a special friend so she doesn't have to spend the rest of her life alone......because that's not fun.
How are you feeling Gina? Are the pain meds helping at all??

Dakota:

Don't know if you know this, but you can bring a cell phone that can surf the net. They have them all over the place.

Now if you want to be incommunicado, then that's a completely different thing. Go and have fun and don't think about computers, the internet, anything. Just have family fun.

But if you need to be on the net for any reason, get one of those sidekick thingees that all the people on my block have. They can surf the net, text message each other (they do this when they are standing right in front of each other), I think they are nuts. I once said "you are text messaging each other right?", and you are standing a foot apart, right?" so why don't YOU JUST SPEAK TO EACH OTHER???"

They looked at me like I'm nuts!!!!! oy veh, the younger generation.

Hi all.

Remember, a few posts back, I described how my 63 year old lady friend is now learning how to use her computer, and she put in Splendor.com instead of Splenda.com.

Well, just now she calls me up and she says "I'm at the Shoprite website, and I'm looking at circulars, see if you see anything you like, we're going there on Wednesday". So I just said to her "what is the URL?" She said "what is the what??"" I said "look at the top of your screen, at your browser web address place, it will say "www, blah blah, and she goes "I don't see it". I then go nuts and I say "there has to be a web address at the top of your screen, because you are at a website". What does she say?" I'm not at a website, I'm at shopright circulars". I just said "oh my god".

Finally, I find it (on my own), and we are on the same page. I tell her, "Esther, at the top of my screen, it says "shopright.com, blah blah", and she says "oh, yeah, I know". I said "what do you mean, you know, I just asked you to give me the url for this website???" and she goes "Oh, I don't pay attention to that stuff, I just look at the website'.

I want to strangle her. Only I can't because she takes me to Shoprite supermarket on Wednesday.

lol

HI Mel!
What you described about your friend and the website problem sounds like Mike's grandfather. He has trouble with his computer because it only has Window's ME on it.....it's an old computer. So it has trouble with some of the high tech stuff on the bank websites. So he gets on the phone and talks to the IT people at the bank......I feel SO sorry for them! LOL First off.....he has trouble hearing. So he keeps asking them to repeat what they are saying. Then he doesn't understand what they are telling him to do......lol He'll keep those poor people on the phone for an hr going over and over and over the steps to get his computer problem fixed. Then the next time he logs in to their site......there's the problem again! LOL Some times he calls them once a week! He won't hear of getting a newer computer because "there's nothing wrong with the one he has now!" LOL I'm sure those IT people cring when they realize it's him on the phone with another problem! LOL

Roxie:

I forgot to mention that when I was on the phone with my friend who was on her computer (by the way, it's only one year old, has Windows XP, and she wouldn't know what Windows XP was if you hit her in the head with it (lol). Anyway, I once told her to forward an email to me. Forget it. She couldn't do it. Then she said "It won't let me reply to anybody". I said "Who won't let you reply to anybody?" and she goes: "The computer"

I said "the computer won't let you reply to an e-mail???" and she goes, "that's right, I can only read e-mails, I can't reply to people".

I give up!!!!!

lol
