Karen:

After Alan had the stent, he had to wait til he healed, then he and I began an eating program designed by a nutritionist (I had actually begun this way of eating two years ago, but she tweaked it for both of us).

He lost so much weight that his doctor said "enough, I want him to eat eggs again (turns out that when a man loses weight fast, they automatically think Pancreatic Cancer), it's like one of the initial symptoms. But I knew it was his eating. I wasn't worried. So I bought the whey shakes. All that protein. Then Alan started working out like Rocky, (look at my user profile avatar), that's my Alan. He went from a man who used to weigh 267 and couldn't bend his legs, to a mean fighting 200 lb warrior.

But because he has foot ulcer problems, he had to stop the gym. But he wears the oft loading shoe now and soon he will be going back to the gym. Becasue we watch absolutely everything that goes into our bodies, there are no mistakes, no cheating, no nothing.

The one constant food we eat is blueberries, absolutely every day. They are full of anti-oxidants. We eat no beef (haven't for years). And I find new stuff all the time. I love fish, I adore salads, I don't eat after 7 pm. at night.

It was all bad habits which we had to learn to overcome. And we did.

To quote a phrase one of my doctors once told me "yeah, you could cheat, but why would you want to, because nothing tastes as good as the taste of good health. So that's our aim.

Hopefully, we'll get there. Might be 80, but we'll get there.

Melody

Alan is really cute. :)

Well, the whey amino acids have made a big difference for me... I think that because I was having a lot of B12 shots and I still had the mind boggling back pain... then I started the Serrapeptase and the whey amino acids and now I'm so much better.

So I guess it could be either the serrapeptase or the amino acids...

I think the serrapeptase relieves swelling, and I think the amino acids are needed for healing.

:)

(I just found this post of yours)
