Default Acetyle-L-Carnitine

Recently I've been slow to introduce and try new supplements, but I just realized that my bottle of pricey ALC is about to expire in the new year. It's 60 capsules at 500 mg. I can't recall the discussion/instructions for using them and what to expect, so I thought I'd ask here. I will introduce them in the next few days. I seem to recall that I should take one 500 mg capsule per day in the morning, though with or without food is unclear. I can't recall exactly how they aid those with neuropathy, but that they improve energy in general, or at least I recall at least one person has told me they experienced this. I tried finding a link to an old discussion, but was unable to do so. Perhaps I'll try again today since I have a bit more time. Thank you.

Carnitine is part of the transport system into the mitochondria which are the energy factories of each cell, of
fatty acids which are burned as fuel. Damaged mitochondria is one theory of nerve damage. The increase in metabolism inside the mitochondria also helps muscles burn fuel too.

Carnitine is not well absorbed in the GI tract, so anything above 500mg a day should be in divided doses.
