I'm still trying to figure out what a Tablet PC is. Never heard of it.

But I do have a suggestion about the HEAT issue of a notebook.

What if a person does this??

You buy a notebook.

You take several cold keepers (you know, the things you freeze in the freezer, so when you go to the supermarket you put them in your bags so when you buy frozen foods, it keeps them frozen until you take home the food, then you just take the cold keepers out of the bags and put them back in the freezer. I have about 12 of these things because everytime Alan's IVIG meds arrive, they come packed in stuff and there's usually 2 cold keepers in them. So I refrigerate the meds and put the cold keepers back in the fridge. Now I do have a LOT OF COLD KEEPERS.
And I have many that are the same size, same thickness, and same dimensions.

What if I bought a notebook (that is if my computer ever breaks down).

I then take 5 or so of the same size cold keepers. (They don't melt or anything, they contain a fluid that is all self contained, so there is no leakage at all).

What if I line up the 5 or so cold keepers on my computer desk.

What if I put a towel over these cold keepers. Then I place the Notebook on top of the cold keepers??? No more heat problem.

Am I stupid, creative, or just plain nuts???

There must be some giant cold keeper (the same size as the notebook), that one puts in the freezer, then in the morning, when one gets up, you simply take out the big cold keeper thing, put it on the desk, put a cover over it, place your notebook and the notebook will keep cool.

If they don't have such an invention, maybe they should????

Tony, i am glad you got a laugh, :) and i like they way a lot of people spell Brian as" Brain " its been happening for years, i am only a PC learner with a curious nature, i only like to understand how things work [ a bit to much sometimes ] :D
Sounds like you are very well setup with your ASUS notepad, nice strength video card and a tech' help on hand, your made. i like ASUS products especially their motherboards so simple to overclock with desktops.
ps- i hope you are no were near those floods i seen on tv.

We have been taking tablets for heaven knows how long and now someone has the impertinence to call a new type of PC a “TABLET”. I suggest the inventor swallows it and we all go back to notebooks and desk tops. :D

Last time I fell, they were a great help. I'd left them in the iGourmet box from my Christmas brie... and I fell into the box... so it was a quite comfy landing, what with the styrofoam and all. :)

Okay, I clicked on the link and further investigation took me to this site. This thing costs $3,795. Is this the same size as a notebook??I saw the photo but I can't see exactly what it is. It says it combines a PC with a PDA, like I know what a PDA means??
Oh, and if you read further down it says: "Security Biometric Finger Print Reader" What the heck is a finger print reader?? Is this something that the guys on 24 with Keifer Sutherland would use???

That's a lot of money, though...

My Toshiba cost... I forget now, but about half that, I would say, and it's got two gigs of Ram (that's the random memory) -- and it's really fast.

I had to get something like this because my web pages are so big, and I often forget and open more than one... so I need a lot of memory or they get screwed up... and that's a lot of work.

I got mine through dbuy.com and they were quite good.

Also, look at pricegrabber... I got my printer though one of their merchants and it was about half of what I saw it going for in other places.

Yes Sue, sure can, i mow my lawns and all that too, as i am lucky that i was able to reverse my prediabetic state and very low b12, which was the cause of my PN... The Brain/Brian thing i get a laugh out of, its probably happens to all Brians.
