Default "Think Outside the Box" LLMD Neurologist

Dr. Elena Frid is located in New York. This neurologist is a rarity in that she is Lyme Literate and is one of the few doctors who treat children with Lyme. She can give a patient a thorough work up for Lyme/coinfections along with neurological diseases.

Elena Frid MD - Neuro-Lyme Specialist

Dr. Frid has often times helped people who have been to all the big teaching hospitals like Harvard or Hopkins and don't have a diagnosis. She also looks for root causes in people who have chronic fatigue, headache, and fibromyalgia diagnoses.

Here is a podcast with Dr. Frid:

Start - 1:30
End - 54:20

128: Need-to-Know Lyme Info with Neurologist Dr. Elena Frid - The Running Lifestyle

An important point:

People can also develop neurologic symptoms when symptoms go undiagnosed for weeks or months, such as debilitating headaches, facial weakness (Bell’s palsy), numbness or weakness in limbs, muscles aches and twitches, difficulty moving, debilitating fatigue, dizziness, nerve pain, and so on.

Default Thanks

My partner had just given her friend the name of the LLMD that we both used in the past when we had Lyme Disease. Although our doctor treats children, she gave her this doctor's information as well.
I had LD almost 15 years ago and during that time, it was very difficult to find a LLMD and even more difficult for those doctors to prescribe long term use of abx. I had found my doctor on Lymenet.org.
I'm not sure if things are still this way. I sure hope not because like you wrote, LD left untreated can lead to multiple symptoms/serious health problems etc.

The place to find a LLMD is to contact ILADS.org. They will send you a list of clinicians in your state.

I have never been treated by her, but if I were to turn back time to 2014/2015 when I was still trying to figure out my illness, I would have made an appointment with her.
