The immunology (T cell anergy, induction of relevant Treg cells, etc leading to tolerance) looks plausible to me.
There are some reports (eg, http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/...X.2016.1226131) that this approach can work in treatment of allergies. In theory it could also work in treatment of auto-immune diseases but I can't find any reports of this.
