I have idiopathic neuropathy now for about 20 years. It is mostly in my feet but now it seems to be progressing to my ankles and legs. I don't take any medication yet but I don't know how long that will last.
My problem now is warts, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this due to neuropathy. About a year ago I had one on my left shin which the doctor cut away. Then a few months after I had one on each of the balls of my feet in the exact same place on each foot. My doctor cut them out but the one on my right foot had to be frozen by a dermatologist. I NEVER want to go through that again. The pain after the treatment was unbearable but it did manage to get rid of the wart. My doctor told me it was a plantar wart, but I've never heard of them being on the shin. Right now I have two spots that hurt on my left foot on the ball of my foot. I'm just wondering if they are warts or calluses from maybe ill-fitting shoes. The only shoes I can wear are Birkenstock sandals that have the toe ring so the front of my foot is lifted when I walk. I do wear sneakers if I have to go out in the cold. I'm just trying to figure things out because it seems strange I would have warts exactly in the same place on each foot. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had this issue. I would appreciate any input from anyone on this wonderful forum as to whether you've ever had plantar warts or calluses on the bottom of your feet. ![]()
