In my search for treatments since it looks like I might be stuck with having to manage it vs getting a cure anytime soon.

Our Parkinson's forum has several threads on nicotine. There is a doctor in France giving very high doses, via patches to PD patients there.
When Nicorette first came on the market it was RX only and was sometimes used to treat ADHD in adults and some older children. (Nicorette is now an OTC chewing gum along with other lozenges, and patches). If you search nicotine online you can see why it can be helpful, but it is also a poison...and can be dangerous if not used properly. I will say that finally getting my hubby to give up his pipe, resulted in a myriad of withdrawal symptoms, that neither he nor I expected. His were gastrointestinal (he had no cravings as such) mostly.
