When my pain was bad, I tried gabapentin but didn't like the side effects so I stopped. The only thing I used after that was klonopin. It doesn't help the pain really, but it would help me be less stressed, sleep, and better able to handle it mentally. I had surgery a year so for a severely herniated disk in my neck. I was losing strength in my arm, and the disk was pressing into my spinal cord. Had the herniation removed, and a big chunk of arthritic vertabrae. |

It's not always a burning sensation in the gums. It can feel like a toothache or feel like an object lodged in the jaw. It seems like the people who have full body SFN, tend to have atypical face pain vs TN type 1. There are small fiber nerves in the ophthalmic branch of the TN nerve.
