Confused Anyone try lamictal for SFN

My Hopkins doc told wants me to try lamictal
For my SFN. He thinks I likely have genetic mutation in sodium channel.
Has anyone tried it?

Lamictal is an anticonvulsant developed for epilepsy, but also helpful with other conditions.

I would think however, and this is NOT a medical opinion, that Gabapetin ( which also was developed for epilepsy) would be more helpful with SFN discomfort. I take 3600 mg gabapentin daily and it stops my SFN misery completely.

Just a thought. Mention it to your Hopkins doctor. However, perhaps the mutation in 'sodium channel' indicates Lamictal.

How do you dose your gabapentin?
Doc does think I have a mutation in sodium channel.
