Default Can I Vent?

Just vent - need to! As many of you know - my puter was just in the shop - got it back - its ok - but also in the last few months my external hard drive had to be replaced - scanner, and even the mouse! MY PRINTER just broke! (it's been a good one though - used a zillion times - and will go to the printer graveyard knowing it did a very good job)

AND, I'm waiting for amyloid biopsies from the procedure last Monday (during which they managed to break a tooth when they stuck the tube down my throat) - have some flesh eating virus on my arm (actually, its either from hives or a spider bite I got last Sunday and didnt feel until scracthed it bleeding - still looks pretty scary) - have my last IVIG infusion on Monday because no one will pick up Medicare patients right now so will be on hold until something happens there - and having a down right nasty time with my disability....

OK, done venting! I'm going to copy my cat and curl up and pretend theres not a problem in the world!

Hope all are well! We will survive!

Kmeb:

You are most definitely not like the titanic. You'll never go down!!! They'll have to get you kicking and screaming.

So what will you do for a printer? Have you purchased another one??

Default Having been 'cat' trained....

myself in the past. Well, I think your cat has the right altitude! I believe it's called horizontal a' la nap?
Our printer died last year and we've a 'samsung' of what type etc...this seems to be working w/o many wrinkles...I even found it's 'instruction manual' on line, complete with 'troubleshooting' company contacts...
We do just B&W tho, color is sooo expensive, and most of what I copy does not need to be in technicolor?
I surely hope your biopsies can give you some sorts of answers that help your PAIN.
Good thoughts to all - j

Default i'm not a very good cat

back up again! just to feed the cat and then sleep i hope! very stressful week coming up....

but yes, a moment of silence for the printer - it served me well!

and melody - you're right - if i go down, i'm taking everyone with me!

dahlek, the good thing about printing with color - i cant get to stores to buy cards but people have the nerve to continue to have birthdays etc! and i love to make cards and print the occasional photo..

Hi Karen

I have just got to say that if anyone is made like your printer was – it’s you. You only require routine maintenance from time to time in order to keep you going for ever and ever.

I do so hope that the biopsy results will be favourable and result in you having the necessary treatment to make life that bit easier for you. Also please keep an eye on your arm. You don’t want any more problems. I shall be watching carefully for your postings.

My Best Wishes and take care

Tony

Depending on what type of printer you need, when mine bit the dust, I went to WalMart and got a Lexmark for less than the cost of a color cartridge. $28.95 for a 600Z printer & a color cart! Doesn't pay to fix 'em.

Default Thanks

For sending good thoughts Tony - the biopsies will be a good thing to have a "yea" or "no" on.... and if they can help docs in any way - its a very good thing.... (my biggest hope is to be able to "eat" foot again instead of just having liquids)

Nide44 - your right about the replacement - the one I'm looking at is half the price of my original - and same maker and same features! When my scanner "passed away" the same too - I use it specifically for old scanning photos and negatives - so didnt want an all in one contraption - wanted a GOOD scanner only.... the company offered to replace it for a refurbished model, when I was able to buy another of their models for with same features - again, for about half the price they offered - I think the half life on these peripherals is about 3 to 4 years max! So I guess in about 3 years - it will be back to the store!
