Default crazy itching woke me up last night

Don't remember that ever happening before. Both feet crazy itchy feeling in the middle of the night, woke me out of a sound sleep.

I'm not the most flexible person so reaching the bottom of my feet is hard.

I've lived with the burning & tingling feeling with the occasional shock but this was completely a new feeling.

Even today my feet feel different, one of those I can't explain they just feel different, maybe its some more tingling it just different ??

Anyone else experience this ??

The damaged nerves have a million ways of sending bizarre signals to your brain.

I have small fiber neuropathy in my upper body, and even with 3600 mg of gabapentin a day, I scratch my arms during the night due to the 'itching' caused by the nerve damage.

My PN is profound, so I have little sensation in my legs, but the bottoms of my feel tingle and burn and feel like 'pins and needles' when I first lie down at night.

Again, this is with 3600 mg of gabapentin daily. I don't really want to take a larger dosage, and I'm not sure more would help.

I take so many medications as it is....I try to take a moderate approach where possible.

I hope your itching has abated by now.

Best wishes.

The itching is something that I relate to totally. Before my initial diagnosis, my doctor was sending me to the dermatologist stating that the itching was eczema. Thank gosh, after my neck fusion the itching all over subsided. However, I do still get spots where the itching is extreme, but not as often.

I have SFN from head to toe for 2 years now. Twice now I have had long stretches of itching and all different parts of my body. It was so serve I bleed and still have the minor scar's from it. I went to 4 different dermatologist's, had 3 skin biopsy's and they found nothing. The only thing that stopped it was one of the skin doctor's said use Eucerin Intensive repair lotion. As long as I use it everyday the bulk of my body I'm fine. It's been many months now and thankfully no more of the hideous itching attacks have reoccurred.

Best of luck & wishing you good health
