Hi,
I am new to this site. Can anyone tell me what supplements have been helpful for alcoholic neuropathy please? My diet is good and I have stopped drinking. Thank you very much 😊 |

The information you asked for is all around this site but here's some supplements you may want to consider. The first 5 are a must I would say. NERVE HEALING SUPPLEMENTS: Vitamin B1; thiamine but best to take Benfotiamine the fat soluble form as you can store it in your liver. B vitamins are water soluble so pass out of our bodies .This together with Vitamin B12 are the most important supplements. I take 1000ug of methylcobalamin a day. A quality broad spectrum multi B Vitamin. Don't overdo B6 B Complex 50 ~ 100 mg Vitamin D3 1000 ~ 5000 IU Magnesium 400 ~ 600 mg Omega - 3 (EPA DHA) from Algae Oil or Fish Oil 1000 ~ 2000 mg a day Eat milled flax seed and chia seed for additional omega 3. Turmeric 500 mg Alpha lipoic acid 600 ~ 1200 mg CoQ-10 100mg Other supplements you may want to consider Feverfew 425 mg caps Valerian Root 300 ~ 600 mg Skullcap 425 mg caps |

3410 days sober
It's getting cold, and the joints are getting a little stiffer in the mornings, but life is good! Hope all is well from wherever you are! Ice out.... |

Sounds good enough Ice!
I'm cheating a couple of hours and am now at day 3100. Really had a rough year (who hasn't really?), but we are still breathing AND still sober, so not all bad. |

3443 days sober
Yes, I am a couple days late. I am surprised I was not harassed by the "sober" police....LOL Anyway, it's almost drywall time and I will have a home gym in a couple weeks! Maybe I will finally get to the goal of "running" again. |

My 1st post drank bear 8-12/day 41/2yrs then starting sept2019 started loosing weight from 220 to 185 even though ate. Late that nov got severe stomach pains along with severe coming & going burning pain in armpits.my endo came back fine had bout of same pain this summer then in Aug started severe burning in feet & hands along w muscle spasm ,twitching, itching, joint pain. The 3 just mentioned have subsided w some residual but know have dry eyes & def less saliva along w diff texture.just can’t believe it’s autonomic neuropathy , started on supplements & was thinking about mesechymal stem cells. All I do is work no other life so if got splurge on my health so be it.any input greatly appreciated tw it was really how sad I stopped when got sick in 11/19 haven’t drank since a day late dollar short. |

Thanks for that post On a freeway and thanks to all who have created and keep this page going for so long. It is so helpful. I know it’s a long road to recovery but I am curious with your personal experiences, did the progression of the disease stop once you stopped drinking? And if so, about how long did it take for that to happen? Thanks for any feedback.

Mr. t, I am sorry for what you are having to endure. I am surprised they didn’t see anything with the endo given the severe stomach pain. Good news that some of the symptoms have subsided. There is always hope. So many people have achieved good results through diet. Keep searching. I belong to a Facebook group (peripheral neuropathy success stories!) lots of great information there for diet, pain relief and research going on for this dreadful disease. Wish you all the best. Keep us posted.
