I had an appointment with my neurologist last week.
He keeps saying that my PN is a mild case and that it should go away in 6 to 12 months if I abstain from alcohol. My symptoms seem a little better. I don't know if it is clearing up or it is the gabapentin. I have increased my fitness level and have been cycling almost everyday. I have resumed playing guitar and try to practice 15 to 30 minutes a day. I don't know what to think. I feel like neuro is not taking it seriously enough. I have tried to inquire as to whether he has seen a case like mine before or not or get some sense of confidence. Again, I know I used to drink a lot. But not any more that the guys I hang around with. So I am still not convinced the alcohol is the culprit. I have no problem quitting. I miss having a beer the end of the day, But I have replaced it with hot tea or a tall glass of lemonade and diet 7 up. |
