I had an appointment with my neurologist last week.
He keeps saying that my PN is a mild case and that it should go away in 6 to 12 months if I abstain from alcohol. My symptoms seem a little better. I don't know if it is clearing up or it is the gabapentin. I have increased my fitness level and have been cycling almost everyday. I have resumed playing guitar and try to practice 15 to 30 minutes a day. I don't know what to think. I feel like neuro is not taking it seriously enough. I have tried to inquire as to whether he has seen a case like mine before or not or get some sense of confidence. Again, I know I used to drink a lot. But not any more that the guys I hang around with. So I am still not convinced the alcohol is the culprit. I have no problem quitting. I miss having a beer the end of the day, But I have replaced it with hot tea or a tall glass of lemonade and diet 7 up. |

I have not quit yet.....hell, it's summer and there are pontoon boats to drive, motorcycles to ride, and classic rock concerts to listen to(even if they are in Manitoba...lol). So am am going so schedule a 'wagon" ride for the wintertime and see what happens then. After a few months off the juice, then I will decide to stay on the wagon or jump off.
