Default Just venting

Ok basically I'm going on 7 months with these "sensations"..this all started back in January when I was 29 years old.

I was a normal young man not obese no previous medical condition nothing no family history of this crap disease. I have not drank alcohol yes I did smoke cigarettes but maybe 2 or 3 a day nothing excessive..and than I got hit spontaneously one evening with no real reason with this stupid illness,at the time I didn't think it was anything serious, why would I!

Over the next few weeks I start3d to notice more tingling more prickly/stinging waking up from sleep with loss of senations in hands so I googled up my symptoms and I was horrified WTF!!!How can I delevope this condition at this age, most folks with this are middle age or old not early 30s...i started to panic my family think I'm over reacting because all tests keep coming back clear but I've explained to them with SFN the only way a result can come is by a biopsy which I have done privatley with a cost of £2000 but still have to wait 6 weeks for the results for some reason here in UK.I tbh did not really want to have the bipspy as it is just a diagnostic test and not a treatment but my family still don't believe I have this condition so its better to be comfirmed than they think ive gone mad or am servely depressed.I also have the body twitching.

I just can not understand how i have got this one day I'm fine planning for the future happy and the next .... it seems like a sick joke ..my wife is due to give birth any day now,and I'm in a very dark place stressed depressed anxious helpless what can I do.im supposed to be happy but how can I with this constant pain.

I have not been enjoying life for the last 7 months and I'm not sure if diagnosed how I will cope in the future.

I'm trying to do everything I can to help myself im eating well excersicing I've lost 7kg since January..im thinking to myself hopefully I'm young so maybe that will aid in my healing maybe it's just wishful thinking.

I'm sure if ther are any people on this forum my age...i have done extensive searching in this forum and I only came across a few and they don't seem to be on here anymore..feel so sad

Going on with my personality I have always been a over thinker or get stressed over little things...but surely that is not a reason to develope these horrible symptoms for this long!!!from whatever I have read people generally do not get better with these types of pains and that is defiantly adding to my anxitey.

Now I'm just waiting for the results to come back just to be diagnosed and than what go through the next however years depressed in pain!!!no one understand

Shak,

I am sorry to hear about what you're going through. I, too, have had a lot of anxiety about what I am experiencing resulting in losing sleep and weight. I started to see a therapist. There is no easy thing I can say to make the situation better. The tough battle is the mental one. You have to try to stay positive or this will beat you down. I struggle with it. You have a baby on the way so be thankful for that wonderful gift. The question I get asked is:

What purpose does worrying serve?

Yeah, it is easy for someone to ask that when they're not going through a difficult time. It is good to talk to people about what you're going through. I would suggest seeking help from a therapist/counselor.

Go outside, enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, be thankful for your wife and the new life you're about to bring into this world. To sound cliche, we only have one life and have to make the best of it. We cannot get back the time that worry steals from us.

Hi sinjin I think we are both going through a similar situation ...its really disheartning not getting any relief regardless of what ever route u take...the only other time I had a medical issue was when I broke my leg few years back playing sports.

Everyone around me was upset but it didn't bother me 2 much at the time because I knew with time I will heal.but I can't say the same with this...its a very testing time for me.

I have read few people's posts wer they get these symptoms and after some time it goes away..i would love that.My symptoms did not start gradually or I had some sort mild symptoms before hand this was a sudden onset,I have not given on finding the course all autoimmune bloods have come back normal only thing that keeps coming back is elevated ESR which means inflammation my doctor has started looking into this now.

Sorry that you're suffering shak.

Can I ask;
What were your symptoms that came on so suddenly?
Where did you get your private biopsy from?
I take it you haven't had the results back yet?

I am in a very similar situation. I have a skin biopsy scheduled for the end of August. Neurologist does not believe I have SFN even though I have many of the symptoms and pretty much everything else any doctor can think of has been ruled out. I’m really hoping the biopsy is negative and the symptoms disappear again (I had almost a month symptom free about 2 weeks after they started). Have your symptoms progressed rapidly or stayed at an even level over the past few months?

Good luck!

I'm also hoping the biospy comes back clear but I can't seem to understand what else it could be apart from SFN..i think my symptoms have got a little worse since the start but I don't think they have progressived rapidly.

Burnsie:

My symptoms came on suddenly one evening after I had a shower!I know it sounds unusual but I was fine before that but as soon as I got out I just felt a full body tingling/buzzing as we was in January I put it down to the cold.

But at the time it definitely felt like a reaction of some kind, the following days I delevepoed a itch all over but no rash this subsided after a few days it's only than I started to feel the needle like pain and hands going sleep at night,my twitching definitely started after I started to Google my symptoms and started to panic at the time.

I had the biospy in the London clinic and will be getting my results within the next 6 weeks.
