Default Splitting B-12 Methycobalamin pills in half?

My 88-year-old Mother developed very low levels of B12 with all the symptoms that go along with it. She was treated by a hematologist via weekly shots at first and is now on monthly injections. The Doctor recommended B12 in pill form. My question is can you split the pill in half on the Superior Source Methylcobalamin 1000 mcg pills? This is the same brand I take for my SFN, however, I take the full amount.

Thank you,

Cliff
