I have been checking often to see if there is any new in the treatment of neuropathy. I have been finding countless Chiropractor Neuropathy Specialists popping up across the Nation that offers a consultation to determine if a patient would qualify or not. Then the try to sell the patient an expensive package. They use vibration boards, ReBuilder, red light devices, supplements, and other methods.
Has anybody tried these, and did you get any help? I keep trying different types of treatment, but with no successes. I guess everyone is different, and perhaps some people can get help, but so far, I am not one of them. I have multiple causes, probably, and that is why mine is so severe. Diabetes Low B12, probably from long term Metformin use. Statins Low D vitamin And some alcohol I don't believe my former doctors were monitoring my vitamin levels. I have discovered all of this way too late. Is there any reason for hope for this condition? I have tried all of the known supplements, but none have helped me. I am sick and re-tired of spending the money for such a hopeless, in my case, condition. Happy Holidays, JKPHOTO |

I have posted countless times what has worked in my life: Grape Seed Extract, Inosine and Sphingolin.
JKPhoto: Have you addressed the issues you mentioned. That is where to start and good nutrition is so vital. ** Last edited by Chemar; 12-23-2021 at 03:20 PM. Reason: ** Nt Guidelines |

I have tried the Grape Seed Extract for about 2-3 years, and Inosine and Sphingolin for only about 3 months each. I am out of the Inosine.
So that is the end of the Inosine. But I will retry these since I have nothing to lose now. My condition is rapidly spreading, and it is worrying me. But I had a good life. JKPHOTO |

I tried Grape Seed Extract (gave me headaches), Inosine (didn't do anything), Topricin cream (didn't do anything). I did a big chiro package without noticing a substantial change. That being said, I have idiopathic small fiber, possibly a mild case of Fabry's disease, which docs are exploring and testing for now.
Since you have diabetes, some of the nutrition stuff may help, like vitamin D and b12 if you're low, and low carb to minimize blood sugar spikes seems to help most diabetics control symptoms. I feel worse if I eat a big meal even though I'm not diabetic. Hope you find something that works for you : ) |

Thank you.
Please tell me what treatments the Chiropractor did? I am grateful for the life I had, and I should not focus on the pain and hopelessness of the condition I have acquired. I have been looking for an answer to get some hope, but I still haven't found what I am looking for. There are many practitioners that say they can reverse the condition, but in my case, I feel it is too late for improvement. JKPHOTO |

Yes, I am taking Vitamin D3 and B12. My recent labs show my D Vitamin is at a normal level. My Vitamin B12 is off the charts high. Probably not an issue, but I plan to lay off it for time being. I have tried R-Alpha Lipoic Acid, Benfotiamine, Fish Oil, Grape Seed Extract, Borage Oil, Turmeric, and the list goes on.

What would my disease progression have been without treatment? Who knows! That's why I was hoping for substantial progress. Lately (without having gone for laser for months) I've been feeling better, but I've thrown the proverbial kitchen sink at my problem though. I made a separate thread with all the stuff I've tried and my results. Obviously YMMV, especially since no one knows what the cause of my SFN is. Good luck! |

I have mentioned this in the past, but I will restate it for anyone new to the forum. I believe that the treatments offered by most chiropractors will only drain your wallet and provide at best very temporary relief. Supplements may help some people if they happen to be a person truly deficient in that supplement. The only true relief I have found for my PN is treatment with a class IV K laser. Unfortunately, it is not universally available, it costs a lot, and it is not covered by any medical insurance. Three years ago, I had severe pain up to my knees 24/7, as well as all of the normal symptoms of PN: numbness, temperature sensitivity, cramping, pins & needles, etc. I now wear shoes every day, all day, no longer have cramping or temperature sensitivity, and rarely have anything i would classify as pain. I no longer take any prescription medicine or supplements for PN. I basically am back to where it all started with tingling (not pins and needles) in my toes. My nerve conduction tests are back close to normal, and my neurologist says I am his only patient in which he has seen such improvement. I have come to know other patients at the same neuropathy cline I go to and many of them have told me that they have had similar relief from the many PN symptoms as well as improvement in their nerve conduction tests. I know different things may work for different people, but I tried almost everything I could find in my research, and Class IV K-laser treatment is the ONLY thing that helped me. I wish the best to all people sufferening from this condition.
