HI Brian!
How's the weather there?? Sure is hot and humid in Texas! It's almost 100 today with heat index around 110! It's miserable!
I totally agree....I have a great dr.! He's very thorough and very knowlegable about Neuropathy. When I went to him in Feb. I had NO idea why I was in so much pain all the time and he told me it was going to take time to get it figured out but wanted to help end my pain....and By George! He is doing just that! I saw him this morning and he was thrilled to hear the IVIG is working so well for me.
I'm happy to hear that you finally found a good dr. there. I have a friend in Austrialia and she's having a terrible time finding dr.s to help with her pain. Good dr.s are hard to find! Take care Brian and have a good day!

Hi Roxie, Its cold and very windy in my part of OZ now, you can send some of that warmth down here :D its ideal weather for small nerve damaged neuropathy patients though, i feel sorry for you guys over there being so hot, i know very well how the hot weather affects PN.
I was lucky Roxie , i found that neuro in the first couple of months of the start of my PN, thats about 4 years ago now, i agree good doctors are very hard to find, your lucky to have him too.
all the best,
Brian :)

Roxie how are you feeling? How is the work issue any news?
Steff I'm on Cymbalta. I was on Neurontin,Lyrica,Elavil and Cymbalta has been the most tolerable for me. I started at 30 with no side effects and at 60 for the first few days I felt like I would puke but then it wore of. I have pn in both my legs and as many know here for 4 months was in bed basically all day I could barely walk. I went to the cleveland clinic for there pain managment and only made it through the first week from so much pain. Since I have been home though very painful I'm able to do daily stuff even take a short walk sometimes for 15 minutes. I'm not very familiar with dx issue but I know sometimes for me my doc said I get hooked up on the name of the dx but the treatment is very similar for ex there treating mine similar to rsd.Good luck and am sorry for your pain but this community is so helpful
As for the weather issue my pn can not stand cold or wind that is cooler. I live in MI and am thinking of moving to FL or CA in Oct. Very nervous about that move.

Hey Brian!
I wish I could bottle some of this heat and send it to you! lol It's 100 today and the heat index is 110......it's miserable! We did some errands this morning and it was the pits going from the car to the stores. Luckily we have central a/c here in the house.
My Rheumatologist was the first specialist I went to after seeing my reg. MD. I did get a 2nd opinion from another Rheumatologist and didn't care for him at all.......that was before I had the nerve/muscle biopsy though. I've heard such terrible horror stories from people trying to find a good dr. We're just lucky to have good ones!

HI Gina!
I'm having some pain today but wonder how much of it is from going from the a/c to the heat and back to the a/c. You just never know!
How are you doing? We ventured out yesterday and saw the new Harry Potter movie...which was ok...... Now we're just relaxing the rest of the evening now.
No news from my Principal yet.....I have my fingers crossed about him letting me work part time for a while.
Take care!
