Yes. I would look into PEA before Gabapentin.
I added a link to a PubMed article but the program forbids it due to low post count. You will have to cut and paste if you are interested. ** PEA is palmitoylethanolamide. It calms the nerve endings. I use PEA. I have to purchase it from Amazon. It's more popular in Europe and there is anecdotal evidence that it can be as effective as Gabapentin without the risks.
