Those of you with PN in feet (my symptoms are bottom of left foot, left foot toes, right foot toes, right top of foot, right shin, and left arm/hand) - does your numbness and tingling come and go throughout the day? Like waking up with no symptoms that creep in with use of your limbs? Cramping in feet that happens from standing/walking?

Yes it does. I use a lot of topicals thru the day to calm it all...and Inosine once a day in the morning.

If you don't use topicals, does it calm on its own?

Yes and No, but I choose to be as pain/tingle free as much as I can be and so therefore topicals to calm it all down. Everyone has degrees of neuropathy and many do the drug route and many have gone that route and off that way and many do not go the drug route as myself.

I guess what I am saying is I have days when I wake up and my arm/hand are not tingling or numb all day. Or days when my feet don't go numb or tingly. Just wondering why some days there's nothing.

Our body does what it wants to do!!!!!
A couple weeks ago I woke at about 5AM in mega pain, arms, hands everywhere....I take my ibuprofen/tylenol at 5:30AM so I did take it a little earlier and rubbed with topicals and got back to sleep.... That whole body pain mess has NOT returned. |

Hmm. My doctor seems to think since I can rest, change position or do strengthening exercises to alleviate the symptoms that it's not nerve disease, more impingement. But I am not sure.

I've given up on MANY docs...everyone has a different opinion. Been that route in my long life, but thankfully the neuropathy hit me later in life, 72, after hip replacement....I have not taken drugs MOST of my life....here and there where really needed and mild ones like 1 ibuprofen/1tylenol every 6 hrs for this mess I life with. I stretch every morning and a lot during the day. Again I'm 82.
