Default A sort of diagnosis at last

A recent visit to the neurologist consultant revealed that my spine issues are causing my neuropathy. She said that multiple spine impingement is causing the nerves to react in the way they are. It's from my spinal chord and is inoperable so the condition is permanent and degeneration is likely.
So at least I know why I have suffered multiple carpal tunnel issues and ulnar nerve entrapment too. Years and years of suffering to find this.
My wrists hurt in the carpal area typing this!

while it is not news that anyone would like to get, that the pn is permanent and degeneration is likely, at least you know what the cause is and don't have to wonder about that anymore.

Well now have an official dx, time to work on reducing the issues and I'm sure the issues are great since our tech explosion. Talking about carpel issues.

I never went to docs for their dx, I knew and learned so much from others and I've posted a lot here on what has helped me.

Inosine, Sphinglin, and Grape Seed Extract (many years).

Welcome Mark D.

I hope that a medically trained doctor will be able to offer you some good advice.

Best wishes.

Did you have other testing to rule out possible double crush syndromes, it's when there is also a secondary reason for nerve pain.

Like your spinal issues plus actual carpal tunnel or ulnar nerve problems.
Or did you have surgery or treatments for those arm/elbow issues already?

Our TOS forum has had posts in the past where they had surgery for carpal tunnel or elbow and still had pain due to impingement up in the neck chest area, the thoracic outlet/brachial plexus areas..
Some also had C spine issues too. So it gets very complex to get best dx & tx..

Is your whole spine involved and causing symptoms in your legs and other areas or just arms & hands?
These images might be helpful for you.

She's not sure actually it's her best guess this is causing it. I had ulnar nerve transposition surgery twice and operations on both wrists for carpal tunnel entrapment. Today and for the last three months I get pain in the wrists regularly.
As I have a complete lack of reflexes anywhere she calls it a red flag for spine impingement

[multiple carpal tunnel issues and ulnar nerve entrapment too. Years and years of suffering to find this.
My wrists hurt in the carpal area typing this]

Have you had an MRI & x rays to check your spine?
If so how long ago? What did it show?
( you should be able to request a copy of the report. for your records.)
If not, then next step is usually those tests to verify or rule out spine as a cause..
Cervical spine issues may point to hand/arms symptoms
Lumbar issues may point to more legs symptoms

You may want to explore our Spinal forum as well as our TOS/RSI forum..

What kind of work or sports or activity do you do?
Past whiplash or shoulder/neck injury, repetitive or desk work posture activities can point towards TOS/RSI

https://www.neurotalk.org/thoracic-outlet-syndrome/
https://www.neurotalk.org/spinal-dis...and-back-pain/

No use thinking it is spine or PN until you know for sure the true cause/s and if treatable or not..
Unfortunately many MDs are not up to speed on TOS or RSI soft tissue syndromes..

I assume you had PT after your surgeries?
But the wrong kind of PT can make TOS/RSI worse & chronic.. Good PT needs to be ..very specific for your case & focus on reducing symptoms and pain..

The Neurologist said it's a deformity of the exit from the spinal column exit
Not from injury etc
