Default Prolotheraphy/warning/never Do It

Prolotheraphy gave me neuropahtic pain, AND CRIPPLED ME. Looking for help with other pain, Prolotherpay injections gave me severe neuropathy.
Just to let anyone know not to use this.

Being crippled from a procedure is not a bad experience- it is life altering.
My life as I knew it as an able bodied person is over as a result of Prolotheraphy shots.
I am glad you have had good effects. I wish that all people would have positive experiences from any procedure, and be completely cured.

Steff, I am so sorry that happened.

I had a similar but different experience... and it's just so traumatic.

(((((((Steff))))))

I know I've already written this to you multiple times... but B12 has helped me a lot.

For instance, after I was living in hydrogen sulfide for some years, I was falling a lot and I could not remember anything...

It was just hopeless.

Only then I got tetanus and the pain when it contracted my muscles where I have PN was ... I really don't have an adequate way to describe it, but for sure I could see how torture would make someone say anything the torturer wanted. There's no standing up to that kind of unexpected pain.

Okay, so I began having daily shots of B12, and sometimes two shots.

A holistic doctor I'd seen quite a while earlier had prescribed a shot a day for a year...

Well, it seemed as if the shots were helping... a bit...

but then after about three months I realized that I didn't have PN anymore... so I got a regular mattress and didn't have to blow up air ones in the middle of the night any more. Way grateful!!!!!!

So, if part of your problem is nerve damage, no matter what the cause, I would get Methylcobalamin lozenges ( 5mg ) if I were you, and I'd take at least three a day for a week to see if I felt any difference, and then I'd keep on taking it till the bottle was used up.

but be sure to keep notes, so you can review what happened and see if there were days when there was improvement.

Because of how nerves react to stress (not in a good way) you could improve but have so much stress a day later that you slide back...

((((((((Steff)))))))))

prolotheraphy shots are a solution injected to irritate the body in order to bring healing to that site. for some people they get relief such as back pain.
there are some that do not.
yes i am bitter right now, and i know that. 25 years ago a doctor operated on my foot for nerve pain and decided to rearrage my bones without my knowledge. this left me with a very messed up foot which lead to fibro and other pain. i had two small children and my whole life ahead of me. my pain level was about a 4. HOWEVER, WITH FAITH AND DETERMINATION i decided to live life to best of my ablities going back to work TEACHING, doing yoga, having friends for dinner, even travel.
last year my feet began to hurt more and my legs too, so i researched the prolotherapy and all the sites (you can google them-these are loads) and decided that i would try this. There was nothing about such severe risks.
the result has been devastating.besides the knifing, burning pain in my feet and legs when i take a step or stand, there is even a growth of tissue in my ankle that feels like a rock even time i take a step (of the few I take).NEVER HAD ANY OF THIS kind of pain BEFORE.
so i know about being bitter and getting over it, but when you have already lived that and succeeded only to go to a level 9 and 10 pain every day of your life-i am sure many of you know all about this-
so where i will end up with this- i do not know. i cannot get pain control and this is more this time than i can deal with, even with all my years of practice.
so i know about a life of pain and turn around. i could have taught a class on it.
when your pain becomes intractable, you no longer have yourself to fall back on.
no stranger to pain, i can deal with it if i can get it back to a 4 or 5, but in 15 mo., this has not yet been achieved. so i came here looking for help and i do not want anyone to get hurt like i did, hence the post.
steff

sorry your are having a rough time. What medical problems where you having when you got your prolotheraphy shot? I have had a couple prolotheraphy shot and am very thankful that I got very good pain and healing relief from the shots. I was in a serious car accident and developed RSD as a result, plus other injuries. I know we are all unique and what works for one may not for someone else. Just as your life was altered as a result of your medical problems mine was altered due to a careless driver pulling in front of me on a fairly major highway.

Everyone on NT has had to deal with this issue, what I was told was what doesn't make you bitter will make you better. I never wanted to be a bitter person. I lost a beautiful restaurant I owned, because I could not work the hours demanded by a restaurant. I lost the understanding of some family members and some friends dropped by the wayside. Most important was I lost my good health and also some of my mental sense of self,as living in pain is no walk in the park. But I never lost my spiritual sense of well being. Hope you find the answers you are looking for and can move forward. Carose
