The chiro I used to go to had one, I had soft tissue pain and some joint pain areas, 20 seconds per area and pain was gone.

May or may not help for PN, but might be worth a few treatments to find out.

Yes, my numbness has greatly improved. PN seems so crazy in that it is can cause such numbness but at the same time hurt so much. Although I have never stopped driving my car, for a couple of years I didn't feel very safe since my only sensation on the pedals was mostly pressure. At some point after starting laser treatments, my big toe (numbest point) started tickling and I noticed my dog was licking it. A month or so later, she was licking it again for some unknown reason, and this time I could feel the warmth of her tongue.and even the texture of it. I feel safe driving again, and when I walk barefoot on a carpet, I can again feel differences in the pattern with my feet At my annual physical, my doctor touches my toes with a feather and I can feel it. He also puts me through the drunk driver test and my balance has improved.

To be clear, a class 4 therapeutic laser is not a cold laser or LLLT. A class 4 laser would burn you if held it long enough over the same location. It could also blind you if you stared into it. I tried LLLT and for me it offered no benefit. It doesn't penetrate deep enough. My successful treatment was with a K Laser, a specific brand. Similar class 4 lasers may work as well. I cannot speak to that. K Laser used to list a map online of every place in the US that was using it, but I can't find it anymore. If interested, you could do a search for local clinics that use class 4 lasers for therapeutic treatments, I guess you could call around to see what they would charge. As I said, it won't be cheap but it is the only thing that helped my PN that was induced by and later worsened by prescription medication. I'm still not 100%, but my quality life is greatly improved.

To answer the other questions. I have had treatments at two different locations.: One was through a chiropractor who was a franchisee of a company call Realief Neuropathy. He charges $4 a minute for treatments that last from 20 to 30 minutes and then, if desired (included in the price), he has a therapist use some plastic tools to remove what he refers to as contractures in the muscles. They were very painful at first, but now that my neuropathy has gotten better, it doesn't hurt it all. I also had treatments at a pain clinic at a price of $60 for a 20 minute session. I think the doctors there just bought the laser for a way to have some of their assistants earn a little more money for the practice when they aren't busy assisting the doctors. From talking with others, I believe it would cost a minimum $2000 to have enough treatments to notice significant improvement, leaving you no doubt as to whether or not it truly helped. You would notice improvements after a few treatments, but until you've had several, you may wonder if it is just wishful thinking. If possible, get a nerve conduction test before and after treatments. That should prove to any doctor that your symptom relief is real.
