Default New here, and have pain and feel really strange, especially after alcohol.

Hi.

I'm new here. My name is Graeme, I'm 41 year's old. I'm just in search of some advise, or to see whether anybody else has, or is having a similar experience.

I have been a heavy drinker for year's, and recently have been experiencing weird sensations throughout my body. Almost like dull aches, but more pins and needles everywhere, hands, toes, face, back, head. Almost feels like electric shocks through my body.

I've read about alcohol induced neuropathy, I just wondered if anyone else has been through this, what was their experience, and any advice?. I've been to the Dr's for blood test's, which came back normal. I also suffer from diabetes (type 2), and Hypothyroidism.

Thanks in advance

Graeme

Welcome, Ravageeject8903!

Sorry I can't answer your question but I've known quite a few people who struggled with drinking. Some people seem to be allergic to alcohol, or maybe it's like an allergy. In any event their bodies can't take it, and yet their bodies may be demanding it.

It's been shown many times over that there are people who just can't tolerate alcohol. You may be one of them.

Many find that an organization of ex-drinkers like AA helps them. I've known quite a few AAers who've been quite committed to the program.

With diabetes and the symptoms you've been having, you're probably going to have to give up on drinking. But these are just one person's opinions and are worth what you paid for them, which is nothing.
