Two weeks ago, I sustained two head injuries. After the injuries, I experienced dizziness, and upon recovery, I had slight leg pain. However, the following day, the leg pain progressed to include my feet, hands, and entire body, accompanied by tingling sensations, muscle pain, and a burning feeling. I have now tested positive for COVID-19. Could COVID potentially worsen peripheral neuropathy? I underwent a brain MRI, which showed no signs of abnormalities.

The virus itself and your bodys immune response to it and resulting inflammation alone could set off a flare of pain and sensations

Nooshi,
Yes - I have full body neuropathy caused by covid. It may be small fiber, anti-mag, I still do not know as still in testing phase. But a viral infection can cause all kinds of things including auto-immune diseases, small fiber neuropathy, etc. I have been suffering for 10.5 months now and it is only getting worse. Hope you do not experience what I have. Mine came on 6 weeks after COVID infection but during the acute phase of covid I had pins and needles in my fingers and toes. |
