Default Neurohelp / Neuragen

Anyone hear about these products? The Neuragen seems a little iffy but the Neurohelp seems pretty promising in that they took all the vitamins and minerals that supposedly help in maintenance and repairing of the nerves and put it into one pill. I've been doing a heavy amount of research and it looks like this formula contains most, if not everything that I have read about.

The only question is.... is it just as effective to take this... as opposed to buying all the vitamins separately and cocktailing them? I know that some people take some vitamins at different times of the day; would it be bad to take just this pill? It just seems like this company is trying to make it easier for people by just offering one pill that combines all the vitamins. Anyways I was going to post this in the vitamins forum but hopefully it might help someone with PN out there looking for a natural remedy.

Default My sense regarding the Neurohelp--

--is that the dosage info is for three pills, not one, meaning each pill actually has much smaller doses than you would think, and that it's pretty expensive, given that.

I would think you could put together a "cocktail" from other products--and probably not even too many others, so you wouldn't have to take a lot more pills--through Swanson or IHerb or Vitacost or one of the other on-line companies, that would be higher in quality and lower in cost.

Lightbulb expensive..

Let's go back....

At age 23, the likelihood that you have serious PN is not high.

The likelihood that you are gluten intolerant however, is 1 in 130. Some say 1 in 30 now but I am still sticking to the 1 in 130 number.

The likelihood you need an expensive shotgun product is not high. That vitamin mix costs $30/month. YOu need 3 of those tabs for any effect.

I definitely do not like the oil...that is exhorbitant in price.

I think you should start taking 200 to 300mg of thiamine a day in divided doses for one month. That should be about $5 US.

If your sensations in your feet are due to a back injury..which you do have
a history of, then vitamins will not be a primary intervention.

Many of us (and maybe ALL of us) have to make accomodations regarding footwear. I think at this point, you should be spending $$ on that first.
Find a shoe that does not irritate your feet. With a soft inside, and roomy toe box. You can have a foot doctor check you out, to make sure you do not have some issue with pronation, or damage like sesamoid bone dislocations or breakage, spurs, etc. This is the best way to tackle your problem while it is still new to you. My son has a pronating right foot that requires orthotics, or he has a terrible time with his feet. The proper orthotic support removed all of his discomfort. I do not feel that proprietary remedies like you are researching are worth the money. Each person has his/her own set of problems that a shotgun product may not address.

Footsmart.com has many nice shoes to choose from if you can't find variety where you are.
