Default RE: Bisphenol A

I was just watching the Channel 5 news, and after House went off, this reporter did a special report on Bisphenol A and canned foods. Well, all the bells went off in my head. I just googled it. Very disturbing. Bisphenol A is in baby bottles, every single canned good in your house, well the can is sprayed with this synthetic female hormone product, before the food goes into it. They did a test. They took canned soups, canned tomato sauce and other canned goods. They emptied the cans, cleaned out the cans, and then put pure water in. After 24 hours, they measured the levels of Bisphenol A, and then they took a petri dish and put breast cancer cells in the dish. Then they added a few drops of the water that was in the cans.

Well, the breast cancer cells started multiplying like crazy.

Who the hell knows what else this coating, (which was introduced since 1932), has been doing to our bodies (Think of all the idiopathic diagnoses we have been seeing on various stuff).

Here's a link to this article.

Unhappy Yes, more doom to come...

This subject is disturbing:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...1100918_2.html

My premature infant son was exposed to phthalates from IVs for 2 weeks in the hospital... he shows strange body hair areas --empty patches on his face
chest etc.

It is pretty spooky.... so drop that overweight guilt...some may not be your fault.

Can't ya just hear it now: millions upon millions saying: "it's not me - it's those blankety blank Bisphenol As, Tributyltins, and Phthalates!!!...oh me, what's a body to do?" Pass the double cheeseburgers, giant fries, and, oh yeah, a diet color, please.

I went into my kitchen closet, opened it and was prepared to throw out all my canned goods. I saw green beans, black olives, Alan's low-salt tomato sauce. I mean, I'VE GOT CANS IN THIS CLOSET!!!

So I've decided to use what I have, and from that day on, make my own tomato sauce, using fresh tomatoes (I learned this from my italian grandmother). I'll use fresh or frozen veggies, and I most certainly won't be heating up anything in the microwave in plastic bowls...or covering the food up with Plastic Wrap and heating it up. The guy doing the report said "and the one thing everybody should never do, from this day on, is put plastic wrap on food and heat it up in your microwave. Thankfully, I've rarely done this.

I have a PLASTIC microwave cover, (with two little holes). Is this bad too??

Oh my god, what the hell are we supposed to drink out of, cook in, and use??

We're doomed!!

'Better living.... though chemistry'......the American Dream !!!

Our society has created such a 'domino effect' thru laws, industrialization, assembly line production, loss of regional
food supply, country-wide distribution, preventative measures
for spoilage......
The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing
and each procedure unknowingly affects the others.
By the time the relationships are discovered they're so entrenched
in the process that they fight tooth and nail if changes
are suggested- now its a matter of pure economics.
Greed... Affects the bottom line.... Stockholders' dividends....
Commercialism... The American Way.
More cancer, more overindulgences, more over-weight, more suicide, more psychiatric aberrations, more mass murderers, more this, more that.....than any other country. McDonald's, Burger King...Ain't life grand ? Camelot ? The Roman Empire.

.....and if major changes aren't made soon the country is going right into the tank - the very same as the Roman Empire and various other 'empires' in the history of the world. The pitiful part is that it can be corrected but probably won't.
